According to the latest Wrestling Observer (subscribe here), AJ Styles is expected to feud with John Cena as we head into 2017. We noted prior that Cena was expected back at the December 26th live event at Madison Square Garden. After that date, he is expected to be back with Smackdown Live and on a weekly basis as we head into the New Year.
The storyline will be based on Cena trying to claim his 16th World Championship to tie Ric Flair. He currently sits second all-time with 15 World Titles.
Also in their report it says that Dean Ambrose will be moving on to feud with the Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. We saw James Ellsworth cost Ambrose his title opportunity against the Miz on this weeks episode of Smackdown Live. The storyline involving Ambrose, Ellsworth and the Miz is expected to continue as we head into 2017.

Becky Lynch is expected to get her rematch against Alexa Bliss for the Smackdown Women’s Championship in the next few weeks on Smackdown Live. WWE could delay this feud until the Royal Rumble but it is unclear at this time what will happen.
