In case you missed it, R-Truth crashed Drake Maverick’s wedding to win his 24/7 Championship back. Maverick had won the belt from Truth on Smackdown this week.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has provided some backstage notes from this title change.
— The Title change was something that Drake Maverick pitched himself to WWE. The company apparently loved the idea and went with it.
— The Title change happened after Drake’s real wedding ceremony took place.
— NXT writer Joseph Belcastro played the pastor for the segment that WWE posted on social media.
— Braun Strowman, EC3, and Jeremy Borash were part of Drake’s real wedding party.
— There was apparently some additional information filmed from the event but it is unclear if it will be posted.
