Backstage Notes On WWE’s Decision To Go With Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin At Wrestlemania 35

Kurt Angle made the announcement on RAW this week that he will be facing Baron Corbin at Wrestlemania 35. The two have had issues stemming back to when Corbin took over Angle’s job as RAW General Manager for a few months.

Fans both in the arena and on social media were not too happy with Angle’s decision to pick Corbin for the final match of his career.

We have some backstage notes to pass your way.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it doesn’t look like there is going to be a swerve coming. Johnson says that the plan backstage prior to RAW was that it was 100% going to be Angle vs Corbin at Wrestlemania 35.

Johnson also says that he has heard Angle was hoping for a higher-profile opponent for his final match. The idea that Kurt picked Corbin was obviously all storyline and not his actual decision.

It is always possible that WWE changes their mind based on the negative crowd reaction but as of right now, it will be Corbin vs Angle happening.

We will let you know if anything changes over the next few days. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

If WWE does decide to change the match, here is how we could book a swerve for Angle’s match at Wrestlemania 35.
