Batista Reportedly Snubbed By WWE For Wrestlemania 34 Role

It was recently rumored that Batista was in the discussions to become Ronda Rousey’s tag team partner at Wrestlemania 34. This obviously isn’t happening as Kurt Angle has been confirmed for the match.

A new report suggests that Batista didn’t turn down the match at all.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Batista and WWE had some serious discussions a few months ago about him tagging with Ronda. Talks apparently went well and it might have been used to plant some early seeds for Triple H vs. Batista at WrestleMania 35 next year. Batista has been adamant in recent interviews about his desire to return to WWE for a full-time run.

Satin reports that Batista last talked to WWE in January and felt as if he was booked for Wrestlemania. He apparently never heard from WWE or Triple H again. Batista was replaced in the role by Kurt Angle, without Batista being told by WWE that they were going in another direction.

Batista will be starring in Avengers: Infinity War which comes out in a few weeks. This is a movie that is sure to be a box-office smash. Interesting that WWE wouldn’t want to hitch their wagons to Batista for this role for the extra publicity.

Would you have preferred Angle or Batista as Rousey’s partner?
