Big Cass made his return to Smackdown Live last week. He had previously been out for the past several months after tearing his ACL. Cass made a big impact on his first night back, attacking Daniel Bryan.

Obviously, Big Cass has just begun a feud with Daniel Bryan. The big question is why? Let’s speculate on the reason for Cass attacking Bryan on Smackdown Live last week. Also, where we think this storyline heading.
A big storyline coming into Smackdown was Bryan finally getting a chance to get his hands on the Miz. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Bryan gets taken out right after the Miz joins the roster. I think that the Miz and Big Cass are working together.
It makes sense too. The Miz just split up from the Miztourage and doesn’t have any allies over on the blue brand. It would make sense for him to try and align with someone like Big Cass now that he has changed shows. I like Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas but Cass is a clear upgrade on the protection side of things. The Miz usually comes into things with a plan. His plan this time seems to be 7-feet tall.
I am not really sure the motivation from Cass’ side of things but it puts him in a top roster spot and into an interesting storyline. The Miz can also do most of the heavy lifting on the microphone for him.
If this happens, it allows for WWE to slowly build the match between the Miz and Daniel Bryan. They could do Cass vs Bryan at Backlash. They could follow that up with Cass and Miz vs Bryan and a partner at the next PPV. After a lengthy build then finally we get the Miz vs Bryan one on one.
