Luke Harper announced on Twitter recently that he has asked for his release from WWE.
After this happened, a lot of fans were excited about Harper’s future outside of WWE. Don’t get too excited just yet though.
We have a rumor to pass your way about Harper. This comes via Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (Subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, WWE is not planning on releasing Harper. To add to that, WWE has reportedly added several more months to his contract for the time that he missed due to his recent wrist injury.
His contract was originally supposed to expire in November but now it looks like he won’t be leaving until around Wrestlemania 36.
My Take: A pretty wild turn of events. Just goes to show (if true) that WWE doesn’t want to see Harper jump to another promotion.
