Bret Hart Clarifies His Recent Criticism Towards Seth Rollins

Bret Hart has come under fire recently for his negative comments towards Seth Rollins and his safety in the ring. It all began after Hart was critical of Rollins breaking John Cena’s nose last year, followed by the ending of Stings career in their match at Night Of Champions. Things got worse after Finn Balor was injured during his match against Seth at Summerslam.

Bret clarified his criticism towards Seth Rollins on a recent episode of Heated Conversations: Hosted By Booker T.  He says that he is not trying to bury Rollins, he is only trying to make him a better (and safer) wrestler with his criticism:

“Actually, I’m a big fan of Seth Rollins. I mean, it sounds like I’ve been a little hard on him the last few months, but I’m trying to make a point to make him a better wrestler, to live up to what I expect out of him. And we’re in this business. It’s not about hurting people, and, too often, people misunderstand my point, and, maybe, including him. Now, he thinks I’ve got a hard on for him, or I’m out to get him, or out to make him sound bad. I’m not. I love his wrestling and I like him as a person. He’s always a respectful guy and I know he’s trying his hardest. I hope Seth Rollins becomes the safest, best wrestler in the world. And I wish him all the luck in the world. And I’m not trying to pick on him. I’m just trying to remind him that it’s not about hurting guys. That doesn’t make you a good wrestler. It makes you a really lousy wrestler” (Source: Heated Conversations: Hosted By Booker T, H/T WrestlingInc).

Glad that he is clearing this up a bit. Many wrestling fans take Bret’s criticism as a complete burial attempt against Rollins so it is good to hear that it is not fully the case.

  1. If you didn’t get that before you guys are a bunch of idiots. Wrestlers do get injured and accidents do happen, but it takes a lot of trust to get into that ring and let someone else throw you around, hit you, and not hurt you. The point is to make it look like it hurts, not really give you a career ending injury. The WWE is now out major bucks because Finn Balor got injured because Rollins gets either too excited, upset, angry, who knows what and he gets messy and people get hurt. Bret wrestled for 32 years and never once hurt another wrestler and is considered the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. Get your act together Seth, people are counting on you.
