Jim ‘the Anvil’ Neidhart joined his brother-in-law Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart back in the 1980’s to form the Hart Foundation. Since that day they became a very popular and successful tag team in the WWE. What set them apart was that the Hart Foundation wore hot pink and black wrestling tights that made them unique for the time period ( along with their wrestling ability). In a recent episode of Bret Hart Radio, Bret Hart told the story about deciding on the colours.

Bret said the person who made their tights suggested to them hot pink as the only colour she had available. They initially said no but a couple weeks later Jim Neidhart changed his mind because he thought it would be funny. Turned out to be the right idea as Vince McMahon and fans loved it.
Bret on Vince McMahon’s reaction to the Hart Foundation wearing hot pink tights:
“The true story is that at the Saturday Night Main Event when we were at catering Vince came in with Dick Ebersol and he just about did a back flip. He came over to me and walked around me about three times and he said, “Don’t move.” He was just walking around me. Circling around me. Vince is circling around me and he goes, “That is what you guys have been missing! That’s what you guys haven’t had since you got here! You can work and you can do this and you can do that but you never had any color.” He goes, “From now on don’t ever change that color and don’t ever change those. I want you to wear those all the time.” So we always wore pink tights after that. The pink and black. That’s where it all started” (Source: Bret Hart Radio).

I can’t imagine the Hart Foundation in anything but those iconic hot pink tights! Think they made the right call!
