Chris Jericho was recently a guest on Busted Open with Dave Lagreca and Larry Dallas. During the interview he spoke on a wide variety of topics. One of these topics was about the WWE Cruiserweight division and the 205 Live show.
Jericho shared his idea on the division and how he would get more fans to care about it and the title. He referenced his time in WCW when he faced off against Eddie Guerrero. At the time, the crowd didn’t care about the match in the slightest.
He says that some of the heavyweight guys like Seth Rollins are doing a lot of the stuff that the Cruiserweight’s are doing already. He doesn’t know exactly how the division can break through to differentiate themselves.
He does have an idea to get fans to care more about the title:
“I think if you put Enzo Amore as a Cruiserweight and put Enzo vs Neville for the title and have Enzo win it. Watch people get interested in the Cruiserweight division. And people at home probably say: ‘ooo Enzo can’t work’. It is not about that. It is about getting people to care about the title. Put Enzo in there, have him win it and watch people start to get involved in 205”
He continued:
“Then Neville could really have somebody to work with, he doesn’t have a babyface to work with. He really doesn’t, someone that is really genuinely over with the crowd.. That would help”
