On an episode of ‘E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness’, Edge and Christian spoke about the importance of young wrestler’s asking veterans for advice whenever they can. They both mentioned how much it helped them in their careers when they received advice from guys like the Undertaker, Steve Austin and more.

Christian told a great story about the time that he asked Steve Austin to watch one of his matches and give him some feedback.
Christian says that he respected Austin a lot because he watched every match and stayed late at shows. This was impressive because someone of Austin’s star-power didn’t have to do that, but he did. One night in Nebraska, Christian asked Austin to watch his match. Here is the story:
“I remember asking him specifically “Hey, can you watch my match tonight? I’m trying to get better as a singles performer.” And Steve doesn’t pull punches, he’s a straight shooter. I came back from the match… and Steve is a friend of mine. I thought he’d be like “Hey, this is a buddy”, the crowd was reacting, match was good, got reactions. I’ll never forget it… I walked back and said “What did you think?” He looked me straight in the eyes and said “Why don’t you learn how to f**king sell?” Then he walked away. I was like “Whoa. Hold on a second here. What?” I went back and watched a bunch of my matches and realized “He’s right. I don’t sell enough”

I guess that is why Austin is considered by many as one of the best to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots.
