More Details and Rumors on the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels Appearing On Upcoming RAW in January

The January 9th episode of RAW is set to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rumors circulated over the weekend that two big names could be appearing on the show. These names were the Undertaker and the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels.

According to F4WOnline.com, their sources have confirmed that Michaels and the Undertaker will be appearing on the January 9th episode of Monday Night RAW.

Their report says that their appearances are in order to build something for the 2017 Royal Rumble. The event takes place on January 29th in San Antonio, Texas. WWE is going to need a lot of star power to help fill the 70,000+ possible seats at the Alamodome and these two could play a big part.

It has been rumored for months that the Undertaker could be facing off against AJ Styles for the WWE World Title at the Rumble. It was also rumored that he would be competing in the Royal Rumble match itself. As of right now we don’t know exactly know how it will play out but it looks like he will be wrestling at the event.

His appearance on RAW will be seen as strange for a lot of fans since he returned several weeks ago for the 900th episode and said that Smackdown has always been his home. He also said that he doesn’t want Wrestlemania to define him, which makes us believe that him wrestling at the Rumble is all but guaranteed.

It is unclear what role Michaels will have. The Rumble is in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas and it is an easy guess that WWE would want him involved in the event. Michaels has made it clear many times that he is retired from wrestling so it will probably be in a non-wrestling role.
