Mickie James returned to a WWE ring for the first time in 6 years at NXT Takeover Toronto. She was defeated by Asuka in her return match for the NXT Women’s Championship after a great performance. She was interviewed backstage after the loss.

She says that her return was incredible, with tears in her eyes. She promised herself that she wouldn’t cry but was unsuccessful. She says that the roar of the crowd was incredible tonight and sent a chill down her spine.
She says that Asuka is incredible. She trained really hard for this but came up short. She also lost a bit of respect for her for not shaking her hand after the match.
She says that the love from the crowd was amazing and it was a winning moment for her. She says that she was able to solidify her career by competing in this match in a way that she wanted.

This video has me thinking that we won’t be seeing her again. I was originally convinced from the ending of the match where Asuka didn’t shake her hand that this feud could keep going.
Regardless it was great to see Mickie back in a WWE ring for one last time!
