Finn Balor Had Some Interesting Comments On Whether Or Not We Will See The ‘Demon King’ At Summerslam

Finn Balor will be facing off against Bray Wyatt at Summerslam. It was widely assumed by (a lot of) fans that we would be seeing the return of the ‘Demon King’ at the event since Balor usually only brings it out for big matches. According to some recent comments made by Balor, we might not be seeing it after-all.

Balor was recently interviewed by IGN where he had some interesting comments about the ‘Demon King’ at Summerslam:

“You know the Demon only comes out in certain special situations and I don’t think my match at SummerSlam against Bray Wyatt calls for it necessarily. I think I’m perfectly capable of handling that on my own, as Finn Balor. The Demon is something I have to personally tap into and believe in and draw from and the opportunity hasn’t arose and the situation hasn’t presented itself yet. The story hasn’t required it.”

He also commented on the belief from fans that Balor should bring the gimmick out at the big 4 Pay-Per-View events (Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series):

“Bray, right now, sure he’s playing mind games but I’m not afraid of that stuff, and if he wants to play mind games, I’ll play them too. But there’s this belief that the Demon needs to come out at every pay-per-view, or at least on the ‘Big Four,’ and if need be I’ll draw on that power, but right now I’m just enjoying being myself and kicking ass.”

Some more comments about how he is happy to just be Finn Balor at the moment:

“Sometimes it’s really personal though and there’s heat and you gotta confront that boss and go in demon-style. That’s just the right way to use the character, you know. You have to make a statement. But right now I’m very happy making a statement as Finn Balor, with my sweet ass leather jacket [laughs].”

So is this Balor trolling us or is he right? Is there no need for him to become the ‘Demon King’ at Summerslam and should it be saved for only huge moments? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
