The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic started last year in honor of the legendary ‘American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes. The tournament started on weekly NXT TV and progressed through until NXT Takeover Respect. The first ever Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was won by Finn Balor and Samoa Joe who defeated Baron Corbin and Rhyno. The tournament was widely considered a success and it looks like we are getting a 2nd! (Beware, upcoming NXT Spoilers ahead).

During the September 15th NXT TV Taping, William Regal announced the news that there will be a 2nd annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The tournament will begin now and finish at NXT Takeover Toronto. It will also feature 16 teams in total.

Here are the spoilers for the tournament after the first set of TV tapings. Again, beware if you don’t want to be spoiled for upcoming weeks of NXT TV.
-The Authors of Pain defeated The Bollywood Boys.
-The Revival defeated Cedric Alexander and Andrade “Cien” Almas.
-Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton defeated Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger.
-TM-61 defeated Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss.

Can’t wait to see how the tournament plays out! Wouldn’t be surprised if this tournament was won by the Authors of Pain, who have looked incredibly dominate so far in their time on NXT TV.
