Goldberg became the new WWE Universal Champion at Fastlane after he defeated Kevin Owens. Goldberg was able to use an assist from the returning Chris Jericho, who provided a brief distraction. Goldberg would hit a spear and a jackhammer to win the title in less than 30 seconds.

Goldberg was interviewed backstage immediate following the match. He was at a loss for words after winning the title. He says that he is happy that his family was able to witness a little bit of the magic that Goldberg was in his prime.
He also says that despite the big win, he is still locked in for his upcoming match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33. He knows that Brock is going to be coming out with a vengeance and with something to prove since he has the upper hand on him.
