Hints From RAW This Week Regarding The 2016 WWE Brand Split: # Of World Titles & GM Titles

Hints From RAW This Week Regarding The 2016 WWE Brand Split

There are still  a number of questions that exist before the WWE draft happens regarding the companies future. Will there be one world champion or two? Who will lead each brand? The WWE left a couple hints this week during RAW for the 2016 WWE Brand Split that will officially take place on July 19th when Smackdown goes live.

The first, Dean Ambrose was not listed as the WWE Heavyweight Champion but simply the WWE Champion:

Many fans likely noticed this change because of the emphasis that the WWE has put on calling the title the WWE Heavyweight Championship in the past. I had fans on Twitter who noticed this right away from Dean’s graphic in the opening segment of RAW.

What does this mean? This, to me is them setting up two world titles for the 2016 WWE Brand Split. One brand will have the WWE Championship and the other will have the World Heavyweight Championship (possibly bring back the Big Gold Belt?).

You also might have missed that Michael Cole mentioned on RAW this week about the RAW and Smackdown GM’s for the upcoming 2016 WWE Brand Split. He mentioned that they will be referred to as COO’s aka Chief Operating Officers once they get control of their brand.

Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are the obvious choices for who will run RAW and Smackdown when the split happens. I am guessing they want to call them COO’s as a better sounding name (and more official) then simply ‘General Managers’.
