Former WWE employee James McKenna shared an interesting tidbit on Twitter about Samoa Joe after Smackdown Live this week. This came after Joe won the match to earn a spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

According to McKenna, there were some plans that were heavily discussed for Joe a few years earlier.
Prior to the unfortunate injury to Tyson Kidd, Joe was apparently heavily considered to come up from NXT to win the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2015. Here is what McKenna Tweeted:
so its worth noting at the very least that joe was HEAVILY considered to be brought up from NXT and win money in the bank in 2015 before a certain unfortunate incident happened. wonder if they’re finally pulling the trigger on nightmare case joe. *fingers crossed*#SDLive pic.twitter.com/xOiO8LICLn

For those wondering, Sheamus won the briefcase back in 2015.
Speaking of Joe, he recently explained why he doesn’t mention TNA or ROH during interviews. You can read that here.
