In case you missed it on Monday Night RAW, WWE promoted the return of John Cena. He will be returning on the July 4th episode of Smackdown Live. The thing that was noteworthy was WWE promoting Cena as a ‘Free Agent’.
This confused many fans as Cena has been a part of Smackdown Live since the 2016 WWE Draft. Is he moving to RAW?
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider prior to RAW, we have some small details about Cena and the ‘free agent’ angle.
There was reportedly a creative pitch for Cena to be able to show-up from brand-to-brand whenever he pleases. WWE obvious went through with the pitch as we saw on RAW.
This will allow WWE to utilize him on either show whenever they need him for a ratings boost.
