It has been officially confirmed that John Cena will be returning on the February 28th edition of Smackdown. Here are some potential booking options for Cena’s return segment.
5) John Cena Announces His Entry Into The Men’s Elimination Chamber Match
I definitely think that an option for John Cena’s return is for him to announce his entry into the men’s Elimination Chamber match.
The men of Smackdown appear to be getting an Elimination Chamber match this year to determine Goldberg’s opponent at Wrestlemania 36. Cena would definitely add some star-power to this match if he did enter.
There was an advertisement making the rounds that had Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, Daniel Bryan, and Robert Roode as the participants. I could definitely see Cena taking the spot of someone like Roode in this match.
As of right now, there are only two people who I could see realistically winning the men’s Chamber match: Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. Adding Cena to the mix would definitely make things more interesting.
4) John Cena Gets Confronted By King Corbin But Roman Reigns Makes The Save
I could definitely see King Corbin and his crew (Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode) interrupting John Cena during his return promo on Smackdown.
Love him or hate him, Corbin is one of the top heels on Smackdown. I could definitely see him confronting Cena and telling him that he has sold out. This would ultimately lead to Corbin and his crew attacking Cena.
After that happens, I could see Roman Reigns coming out to make the save. Reigns would clear the ring and then would share a moment with Cena. If they want to go even further, they could book Roman and Cena vs Corbin, Ziggler, and Roode in the main event of Smackdown.
This would be a scenario that doesn’t really set anything up for Wrestlemania 36. All it would do is give us a few fun moments between Cena and Reigns. WWE could also replace Corbin’s crew with Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro. They would also fit for this scenario.
