July 26th Smackdown Live Viewership Drops Post-WWE Draft

The July 26th Smackdown LIVE had tough shoes to fill. After RAW put on an INCREDIBLE show the night before, they were facing an uphill battle from the start. The show featured a battle royal and a six-pack challenge to determine the number one contender for Dean Ambrose’s WWE Title. Just like RAW we had a shocking ending as Dolph Ziggler outlasted 5 others to earn the right to face Dean at Summerslam. The show unfortunately wasn’t able to stop from a ratings slip from the WWE Draft the week before.

The July 26th Smackdown Live did an average of 2.74 million viewers on Tuesday night. This is down from last weeks debut episode (and WWE Draft) which did an average of 3.17 million viewers. RAW this week did an impressive 3.338 million.

Obviously on first glance the July 26th Smackdown LIVE viewership numbers look disappointing. Lets be honest though, the WWE stacked their RAW roster so Smackdown has their work cut out for them. Like we saw with Dolph Ziggler this week, if the WWE is able to surprise viewers, they will have a chance to compete. Not necessarily win the ratings battle but remain competitive.

This is still a huge leap compared to the taped Smackdown rating which had been doing about a 2 million average per week.
