Former WWE Writer Shares The Story Of Justin Bieber Almost Wrestling A Match In 2014

Love him or hate him, Justin Bieber is one of the biggest stars in the world today. It turns out that he almost wrestled a match at Summerslam in 2014. The information comes from former WWE writer: Kevin Eck who was recently a guest on ‘the Wade Keller Pro-Wrestling Podcast’.

Daniel Bryan was injured and couldn’t wrestle at Summerslam that year. As a result, Cena moved up to face Brock Lesnar at the event. If Bryan was not injured, there were apparently some big discussions about a match involving Cena and Bieber. Here is what Eck had to say:

“WWE was thinking about bringing in Justin Bieber, I swear to God. Big Show was friends with Floyd Mayweather, Mayweather was friends with Bieber and Bieber wanted to be involved”

Eck says that Vince McMahon pitched it and was all excited about it. Eck thought that it was a giant rib.

“It was going to be a 6-man match: John Cena, Big Show and Justin Bieber against the Wyatt Family”

Eck says that he thought it was a bad idea. At this time Bieber was making headlines in the press for the wrong reasons. Vince apparently dismissed Bieber’s issues at the time, saying: “Well Floyd says he is okay”.

Eck says Vince eventually realized that the crowd would boo Bieber out of the building. At one point, there was talk that Bieber would take an ‘AA’ after the match from Cena while the team was celebrating to try and pop the crowd. These ideas never really got off the drawing board because of the injury to Daniel Bryan but it was discussed at one point according to Eck.

Bieber being allowed to take an ‘AA’ is probably a stretch but him appearing would have certainly made headlines around the world.
