Kevin Nash got his start in the WWE as the bodyguard and buddy of Shawn Michaels, under the name ‘Diesel’. Shawn Michaels ran his mouth and Big Daddy Cool was there to back him up in case there was any trouble. With current WWE star Dolph Ziggler, you sometimes see comparisons to Shawn Michaels in the way they perform and act. In a recent appearance on Vince Russo’s The Swerve podcast, Nash says Dolph Ziggler is a guy who is in desperate need of someone like Diesel with him.
Here is what he said:
“People always say would you ever come back to wrestling and I say to myself I’d come back and be [Dolph] Ziggler’s Diesel because that’s all he needs. Number one, he’s not a face. Ziggler is a heel and I wouldn’t have to say a word because he can talk. I’ve already had mine. But for the bigger guys, he needs somebody to stomp them. He does the same thing Shawn [Michaels] did. He takes every bump in the world. He takes every beating from the guys and then usually they beat him. But to me, his in ring performance is as good as anybody’s in the business right now. He works so hard. I’d like to teach him the little things that Shawn learned. Yeah, he can fly back on every bump but every third one is kind of nice to take a punch and bounce off the ropes. I actually think this is a really good idea for Dolph Ziggler. Maybe not Kevin Nash himself but someone of his stature that he can team with. Dolph can talk trash to the bigger guys (like he does now) but also have some backup. Ziggler is very talented and fun to watch, maybe this could be the shake up that his character needs? I know they have been feuding but I would enjoy a Ziggler and Corbin pairing.
