There have been rumors for the past few days that Daniel Bryan and John Cena are refusing to appear at the WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. John Cena was officially replaced in the World Cup tournament on RAW this week. Now many people have been asking about Bryan’s status, since he is scheduled to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Daniel Bryan will NOT be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the show.
According to Johnson, there was an idea for Bryan to potentially wrestle Styles inside of the WWE Performance Center. The match would have aired as part of Crown Jewel. That idea was scrapped though.
This means that something is going to happen on Smackdown tonight to take Bryan out of the match. Johnson mentions that he has heard Rusev’s name as a potential replacement for Bryan against AJ Styles. While saying that, no final decision has been made about what direction that WWE will go to replace Bryan on Smackdown.
Right now, the only thing that we know for sure is that Bryan is out of Crown Jewel.
This confirms the reports from Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports, who first said that Cena and Bryan are refusing to work the show.
