Michael Hayes Responds To Dean Ambrose’s Claim That Brock Lesnar Is Lazy

Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar was a let down for many fans at Wrestlemania 32. The match recently has come back into question after Dean Ambrose was a guest on the Stone Cold Podcast with Steve Austin. During the interview, Ambrose said that he had this great vision for what the match [at Wrestlemania 32] could be and he was met with laziness. The result is what we saw on TV.

WWE Hall of Famer (and current WWE producer) Michael Hayes took to Twitter to respond to Ambrose’s comments. He says that as someone who is associated with every Lesnar match [in his producer role], he doesn’t see laziness from him.

Here was the tweet from Michael Hayes:

Interesting comments for sure from someone who does work behind the scenes as a producer and creative team member. Many fans argue that now a days, Lesnar matches only consist of a few things. Suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, suplex, F5. He has been capitalizing on the suplex city gimmick. Does that make him lazy or is he just being smart?

As a hardcore fan myself, it is frustrating to watch Brock Lesnar matches like this because we know he is so talented and capable of much more. From a casual fan perspective, they just want to see Brock suplex someone to oblivion and pick up the win. It is certainly an interesting debate.

  1. Brock Lesnar may be gold as Paul Heyman sells it. But if he is limited to only two signature moves, either he’s not doing something really great in this return, or the creatives are screwing his booking. If you compare his performance to his first WWE run, I’ll say Brock has dwindled.

  2. Everyone wants to hate on reigns for having only a few moves, but yet those same people love lesnar and he doesn’t have as many as reigns. I think lesnar is a lazy wrestler and his matches are usually boring unless the opponent does good moves. He doesn’t care, he’s just getting paid and that’s all he cares about

  3. brock will tell you its just a job to him. and in knowing he wasn’t too amped about working w/ ambrose in lue of bray wyatt, it wouldn’t shock me if brock just decided to go generic w/ ambrose to prove a point. I think that’s what dean meant. while just another payday for brock… dean could have really elevated himself even higher in that match.

granted, dean is the current WWE champ, but we all know there are several mitigating factors as to why – seth’s injury and roman’s adderall debacle. not that he hasn’t earned it, but it was obviously a slight detour from the original booking. they could have done so much more w/ that match, but brock decided it was enough, and it was unfortunate for dean.

  4. In wrestling, LESS IS MORE, which is something I’m sure Dean Ambrose knows. Brock is doing what has been working for his character and maybe that doesn’t exactly cross well with Ambrose’s style, so maybe that’s why Ambrose perceived it as Lesnar being lazy.
