More Details On The Backstage Reaction To Nia Jax Injuring Becky Lynch

The major story over the past few days has been Becky Lynch being forced out of Survivor Series and her match against Ronda Rousey. This came after she took a stiff shot from Nia Jax during the brawl on Monday Night.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful provided some more details on the backstage reaction to Nia injuring Becky in his ‘Fightful Wrestling Weekly’ column. Sapp was the first person to break the story of Becky being out of Survivor Series.

Sapp says that right after Becky was injured, the mentality backstage was that accidents happen. He says that after the video footage of what happened came out, that mentality changed really quickly.

The Women of Smackdown Live were reportedly very upset about Nia’s punch that hurt Becky. Sapp says that the Women on Smackdown are a much tighter group than the Women from Monday Night RAW.

According to the report, there were plenty of wrestlers talking about it being “a blatant punch to the face, void of any attempt to use a ‘worked punch’.”

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and if there is any backlash on Nia moving forward from the upper brass of WWE. It seems like this injury may have worked in the favor of Becky though as a report currently suggests that Ronda vs Becky is the current plan to main event Wrestlemania 35.
