Braun Strowman destroyed Vince McMahon’s limo on RAW this week. As a result, Vince fined Strowman $100,000 and also pulled him from his Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
Later in the show, Finn Balor defeated John Cena, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin. As a result, Balor will now be the one to challenge Brock at the Rumble for the Universal Championship.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Braun was NOT pulled from the match due to injury. Here is a quote:
“It will be reported that it is due to an injury by others. It is not. It was always the plan”
More details will likely come out very soon on why Braun was pulled from the match. Looks like it wasn’t changed due to Braun still being hurt, which is the popular fan theory.
