NXT Takeover is coming to San Antonio on January 28th, 2017. This is one night before the WWE takes over the Alamodome for the 2017 Royal Rumble. Below is the match card for the event and our NXT Takeover San Antonio predictions.

Here are our NXT Takeover San Antonio predictions:
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bobby Roode
NXT Championship
This one should be fun. Bobby Roode has had a quick ascension to the top of NXT and he has earned himself an NXT Championship shot. I think it is a little too early for Roode here. I fully expect him to be the next NXT Champion but just not so soon. I think Nakamura will retain here but Roode will end up as Champion before the end of Wrestlemania weekend.
I think this will be an incredible match with both guys putting on a show. Nakamura’s matches against Joe were good but they weren’t great. I think Roode and Nakamura will put on a better match together.
Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura retains.
Asuka vs. Billie Kay vs. Peyton Royce vs. Nikki Cross
NXT Women’s Championship
This should be a solid match. I think it is too early for any of Asuka’s challengers to become Women’s Champion but expect this match to highlight all of their talent. I say Asuka retains and continues her impressive title reign.
Prediction: Asuka retains.
DIY vs. The Authors of Pain
NXT Tag-Team Championship
This is a tough one. DIY just won the belts and it seems like it is too soon for them to lose. The Authors of Pain have been incredibly dominant since making their debuts and look to be unbeatable. Will NXT book the Authors to lose and kill their momentum? I can’t see that happening. Expect DIY to lose the belts after getting overpowered.
Predictions: New Tag Team Champions, Authors of Pain win.

Tye Dillinger vs. Eric Young
I am guessing Sanity will be at ringside for this one. I expect Dillinger to pick up the win but get beaten up after the match, allowing Young and the group to still look strong. Dillinger can’t keep losing matches.
Prediction: Tye Dillinger wins.
Roderick Strong vs Andrade “Cien” Almas
First big match of his NXT career for Strong. Expect him to pick up a big win here.
Prediction: Roderick Strong wins.
