You would have to be living under a rock to not know about Paige and her current rocky relationship with WWE. Her last match was back in June of 2016. Since that time, she has violated WWE’s wellness policy twice and has underwent surgery to repair her injured neck.
There was also the hacking scandal where numerous explicit videos and images of her were leaked. Also, the news that the Rock is currently producing a movie based upon her and her family’s life. It has been a crazy year for Paige to say the least.
One of the biggest topics has been her relationship with Alberto Del Rio, who has taken some shots at WWE since his release in some periscope videos. These videos include Paige herself in the background.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), as of right now, there is no plans for WWE to use Paige when she returns from injury. The reason is being described as due to ‘everything that has happened’.
It is also being reported that the only thing that is likely keeping her employed with WWE is the movie that is being produced by the Rock’s team and WWE studios about her family.

Our take: This is only my opinion but it almost seems like Alberto’s rants on WWE are designed to get Paige fired. Why else bash the company when Paige could return to a solid spot on either RAW or Smackdown Live? It is certainly an odd situation and it sucks because Paige is super talented and still very young.

you know… she could just quit or retire. a contract doesn’t stipulate that you can’t quit your job. and if we learned anything from the cm punk fiasco… you would think she is as much of an independent contractor as he was.
yes, I know there clauses and stipulations and what not… but she doesn’t come across as someone dying to wrestle for a while. and probably for god reason considering her neck issue. regardless, a decent lawyer could probably sort out her contract.
but if you look at this situation from afar… it appears that she has all the leverage. if WWE tried to fire her – she could scream bloody murder and rub WWE’s name through the mud. not that WWE hasn’t dealt w/ that before… but now being publically traded and her many different issues… it sort of comes across like she has dirt on WWE. I mean, we’ve heard of people getting fired for WAAAAAY less. one of her instances could be grounds for termination for any of us; but somehow its avoided her.
