5) Sami Zayn

WWE Universal/ Intercontinental/ United States Championship

Sami Zayn had a fantastic 2016 on WWE’s main roster. This included three match of the year candidates at Battleground, Extreme Rules and NXT Takeover Dallas.

He will be looking to build upon that in 2016. Sami is an incredible performer and plays the underdog role very nicely.

In 2017, I predict that he will win his first championship on WWE’s main roster. He is a former NXT Champion and proves on a nightly basis that he can put on fantastic matches with anyone on the WWE roster.

The only question is what title. I think the WWE Universal Title might be a bit of a stretch. I personally would love to see Zayn hold a mid-card title like the United States (if he stays on RAW) or the Intercontinental Championship.

I think Zayn could be an entertaining (and fighting) champion. Have him defend the belt on a weekly basis, sort of like the old television title. Let him show off his wrestling ability while giving other stars a chance to show what they can do.

It might be brief, but I expect Zayn to hold a title before 2017 finishes.
