A John Cena heel turn has been desired by WWE fans for a number of years. Cena toes the line between good guy and bad guy but remains as character that is not black and white. A majority of kids cheer him, a majority of adults boo him but his reaction is always loud when he comes to the ring.
You might remember when John Cena appeared on the WWE Network podcast hosted by Chris Jericho. Y2J asked Cena if he would ever turn heel. Cena said that there were plans for him to turn heel during his feud with the Rock. He was very excited about the idea and he had new music and ring gear made just in case.
Reddit user Drep_Reaper made a pretty great connection about a John Cena heel turn that was planned. WrestlingInc reported back in 2011 that WWE had filed for the trademark: “Fear My Name”. The article assumes that it would be for a new wrestler.

On an episode of Total Divas, the reddit user points out that Cena shows up to work out with Nikki Bella wearing a maroon singlet. Guess what the singlet has on the stomach area: “Fear My Name” with Cena on the back. It looks like this is the gear that Cena had made for his heel turn.
