Report On Several Backstage Changes That Were Made At WWE Evolution

You might have noticed that Evolution felt a bit different than your typical WWE PPV event. Other than obviously only featuring female stars, the show also featured some changes to the production of the event.

So what was different behind-the-scenes at Evolution?

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the NXT production crew manned and ran the show. Johnson says that the usual production crews for RAW and Smackdown were not in charge of the event.

Johnson adds that the production truck was run by the same crew that always handles the NXT Takeover specials.

Also, Kevin Dunn was not in attendance at the Evolution event and did not direct the PPV. The person who directed Evolution is the same person who always directs the NXT Takeover events [no name was given].

The different lighting for the event was done to give the show a different feel from usual WWE productions.

For those wondering, Vince McMahon was backstage at Evolution. He was in Gorilla Position for the show but was said to have arrived just before the show started.
