As noted prior, Belt Fan Dan (who has broken some belt-related stories in the past) revealed that WWE changed the design for the Women’s tag team belts a few months ago.
It turns out that a couple more WWE belts could be undergoing some changes in the near future.
According to Dan, there are some ideas pitched for some belts to be changed so custom side plates can be added. This includes the RAW and Smackdown tag team belts. It also could include the United States title. Here is a quote:
“I was also told that both Raw and Smackdown tag belts will be changed to have removable team side plates which I also reported over a year ago when the idea was brought up. This was also proposed for the United States belt.”
My Take: I think that it would make a lot of sense. More custom side plates mean more potential merchandise dollars for WWE. I wouldn’t be shocked to see this eventually happen to all WWE belts in the future. I am sure collectors would love to buy an NXT Title with custom plates from their favorite wrestlers.
