Ric Flair Has An Idea For John Cena To Break (or Tie) His World Title Record

Ric Flair is officially recognized as a 16 time World Champion, holding the record for most in professional wrestling history. He is an eight-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Right behind him is John Cena, who currently sits second all-time with 15 World Championship wins.

Cena has a chance at WWE No Mercy to tie the Nature Boy’s record when he takes on AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match. Flair recently participated in an Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the R/SquaredCircle community, to promote his podcast: The Ric Flair Show. During the  AMA, Flair answered a wide variety of topics based on his wrestling career.

Flair was asked if he could have a match with someone on the current WWE roster, who would it be? He responded with an idea for Cena to break his World Title record against him on the grandest stage of them all: Wrestlemania!

“It would be if John Cena wins my title, give me five months to get ready, and of course I’d put him over and he’d break the record. If they gave me until Mania to get in shape, I could give John a helluva match, put him over and it’d be worth it. And people would buy tickets to see that, too” (Source; Reddit).

Flair is 67 years old but can you imagine if Cena beat Flair to beat (or tie) his record. Now that would be pretty darn cool. Not sure how good the match would be but nothing would shock me with Ric Flair.

Make sure to check out R/SquaredCircle as they are a great community! Let us know what you think of his idea!

  1. It won’t work lol. Him putting Cena over for John to win the belt will mean he’s asking for another reign, which just will tie it up, again
