Van Dam on his relationship with WWE:
“I have an open door with WWE as far as wrestling goes. I also have an ongoing merchandise relationship. I hope that the right opportunity presents itself so that I will do another run with WWE. For me, the fans missing me and wanting to see me on TV is very important, but the business end of it also has to be right”
He mentions that there were plans for him to return in 2015 in the ECW Originals vs Wyatt Family feud. The deal didn’t come together from a business standpoint. He still remains open to a return in the future:
“I certainly hope that comes together, and it will be something that is right for me and right for WWE and right for the fans. But at this point, I do not have any plans of such”

I think a lot of fans would be open to a RVD return. With the brand split he could provide a veteran presence to one of the locker rooms.
