You may have stumbled upon the rumor floating around about James Ellsworth possibly returning to WWE on Sunday night. Ellsworth initially denied the rumors by saying that he was going to be in China for a show on the same day. It turns out that Ellsworth bailed on the event at the last-minute, so it looks like his schedule is free for Sunday.
A rumor from Cageside Seats suggests that Ellsworth will be returning on Sunday to help Carmella retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Asuka.
It would make sense since we know that WWE isn’t going to have Carmella defeat Asuka clean. If they want this feud to continue, a distraction from Ellsworth could be a decent way for them to do it.
