Samoa Joe has been on the WWE main roster for a few years now. He has been in some big programs but they have never pulled the trigger on him winning the WWE Championship.
We have a rumor to pass your way about how WWE officials view Joe.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was talking about the upcoming match between Joe, Ricochet, and Baron Corbin. Meltzer ended up saying this about Joe:
“I know that there are people in power who are very high on Joe, although I don’t think that Joe needs to win the King of the Ring because Joe is such a good talker and people believe he is a badass and he can lose and stay somewhat strong. When I say lose and stay strong, and that becomes an excuse to beat him all the time and then they somehow don’t stay strong and then they wonder why.”
My Take: As a big Samoa Joe fan, this definitely makes me feel hopeful that we will see him win the WWE Title at some point. He is a fantastic worker and promo. I think that he deserves a run on top at some point.
