Rumor On Mick Foley’s Role As Special Guest Referee

It was announced on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW that Mick Foley will be a special guest referee at Hell in a Cell. Foley will be the referee for the Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman.

On Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer spoke about Mick Foley and his expected role in the match.

Meltzer says that as far as he knows, Foley is not allowed to take any bumps during the match. Here is a quote (via Ringside News):

“The thing is because he’s not allowed to take any bumps or anything like that at least that’s what I was told because of his concussions and everything. So it’s like put him in there as a ref it’s kind of weird because a guest ref has to do something physical in theory.”

“But he’s not allowed to do anything physical. I guess he could do the mandible claw, there’s no reason he can’t do that. But do you really want him doing it on Strowman? I guess I don’t know. Strowman can’t hit him or anything as far as I know.”

A special on Mick Foley will be airing right after Hell in a Cell goes off the air on the WWE Network.
