According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, WWE would not allow any fans in attendance to wear a mask during the show. Here is what he wrote:
On top of nobody finding out about the COVID failure until it hit social media, I was told by multiple sources that WWE would not allow anyone in the crowd at the RAW taping Monday to wear masks.
Dave Meltzer also noted that the fans were told if they wanted to wear a mask, they shouldn’t come. WWE didn’t want any masks to be shown on television.
Wrestling INC also reports that WWE had the fans in attendance sign a waiver to say that they wouldn’t be liable if the fan contracted COVID-19:
Wrestling Inc. first reported that the fans signed waivers at the show stating that WWE wasn’t liable if they contracted COVID-19 and that there could be inherent risk attending the event. The fans also had their temperature taken and filled out a questionnaire
