Rumor Roundup: Aleister Black’s Absense From Smackdown, Scrapped Debut Plans, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Update On Daniel Bryan

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there has been no edict in WWE to not mention Daniel Bryan’s name. This comes after the news that his contract with the company has now expired.

Here is what Johnson wrote about the situation:

In regard to Daniel Bryan’s status, there has been zero edict within WWE warning talents or employees not to mention Daniel Bryan on WWE programming.  He was mentioned on this week’s edition of The Bump as well as the After the Bell podcast, which featured speculation as to whether Bryan could appear outside of WWE.  If WWE was looking to distance themselves from Bryan after his bout against Roman Reigns and removing him internally from their roster, they are not actively doing so compared to say, CM Punk leaving and there being a lockdown on any mention of his name years ago.

My Take:

  • If Bryan does leave, it will also be a lot different than CM Punk’s exit. WWE would be upset if he goes to another promotion but there would be no bad blood.

4) Update On Jimmy Uso

An update on the status of Jimmy Uso after he returned to television on this week’s episode of Smackdown. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Jimmy is officially cleared from his injury, which means that we will be seeing him wrestle very soon.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

Jimmy Uso officially returned to the Smackdown roster last night, joining Jey alongside Roman Reigns.  He is cleared to return to action we are told.

My Take:

  • I am really digging the story that they are telling with Jimmy’s return. I am excited to see where it goes and how it develops.
