Rumor Roundup: Aleister Black’s Future, WWE Passed On Signing AEW Wrestler, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) WWE Passed On Signing AEW Superstar

Jade Cargill recently debuted on AEW Dynamite. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE passed on signing Jade after she attended a WWE tryout.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

She’s also done modeling and had a WWE tryout in 2019 but wasn’t signed. Just based on her look and athletic ability I’m surprised WWE didn’t sign her, but they did a complete tryout and there must have been something they didn’t like

My Take:

  • I am also surprised that WWE didn’t sign her. I wish her the best with AEW and I hope that she excels.

4) Zelina Vega’s Future After Being Released By WWE

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Zelina Vega will be under a 90-day non-compete clause. This comes after her release from WWE on Friday.

This means that Zelina won’t be able to go to another wrestling promotion until February at the earliest:

Vega was informed late this afternoon that she was being released before tonight’s Smackdown taping. As we noted earlier, she would be under the traditional 90 day non-compete window, which would keep her from working televised promotions through mid-February 2021.

My Take:

  • I am still shocked about WWE releasing Zelina. I still remember the rumor from a few months ago that suggested Vince McMahon was extremely high on her. We will definitely learn more about the situation in the upcoming weeks, which will help clear things up.
