1) Backstage News On Shane McMahon’s Weird Promo On RAW
This week’s episode of RAW featured a strange segment involving Braun Strowman and Shane McMahon. During the segment, it sounded like Shane forget his lines, and fans were confused as to what was going on.
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Shane did NOT forget his lines during the segment and his delivery went as planned.
Sapp says that the plan for the segment was to make Shane less likable in his feud with Braun Strowman. Shane struggling to get his words out was part of that dynamic.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also said that WWE is trying to turn Shane into the heel in this feud:
“They’re trying to find a way for Shane McMahon to be the heel, so the idea is he’s going to be this dick making fun of the dumb guy (Braun Strowman)”
My Take:
- This was an awful segment and made me not want to see them face off at Wrestlemania 37. If we get 5 more weeks of storylines like that, this feud is in trouble.
