Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Why ‘Throwback Smackdown’ Is Happening
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, ‘Throwback Smackdown’ is happening because of FOX. This will tie-in with a similar theme that is happening on NASCAR.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
The 5/7 Smackdown show will be some sort of a retro show. That’s part of a tie-in with a NASCAR race on FOX with a similar theme so that’s where it came from. So this appears to have been a FOX directive. Rollins vs. Cesaro is the only match announced so far
My Take:
- That makes sense as to why it felt so thrown together at the last minute.
4) Superstars Receive New Names
According to Heel By Nature, WWE has re-named Dilsher Shanky and Rinku Singh. They appeared alongside Jinder Mahal on the latest episode of WWE Main Event.
Dilsher Shanky will now be known as ‘Shanky’. Rinku Singh will now be known as ‘Veer’.
Dilsher Shanky and Rinku Singh accompanied the former WWE Champion for his match against Jeff Hardy. The duo received name changes, with Rinku Singh now known as Veer, and Dilsher Shanky now known simply as Shanky.
My Take:
- I am interested to see how Jinder does with these guys. A lot of people hate Jinder but I will give him another shot.
