Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Original Plan For The Main Event Of Backlash
According to Ringside News, the original plan for the main event of Backlash was for the WWE Title match to close the show.
WWE ended up changing this to the Universal Championship match before the show started.
The original main event of the show was initially planned to be the WWE Title triple threat match. That changed when the lineup was shifted around prior to the show on Sunday.
My Take:
- I think that they made the right call. Roman vs Cesaro was the best match of the night and I think it ended the PPV on a high note.
4) WWE Returning To Saudi Arabia?
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is expected to return to Saudi Arabia before the end of the year.
Here is what Meltzer said:
“The big thing with them is that their date looks like it’s August 14th and it’s in Saudi Arabia. So, if Saudi Arabia is willing to bring them in, then that means they are gonna bring WWE in before the end of the year. That’s not been said, but the only reason they haven’t been in Saudi Arabia is because of the pandemic.”
My Take:
- It will be interesting to see if a lot of talent opt out of the show if it happens. Something to keep your eye on. My guess is that it won’t be a big number as a lot of talent likely want the big payday.
