3) NXT Talent Show
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), NXT held a talent show this week. This was mandatory and for morale purposes.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
NXT held a talent show for their roster at the WWE Performance Center on Wednesday afternoon. We’ve heard there was everything from singing to stand-up comedy, and that the show was mandatory to attend, but was a morale boost for some and it seemed to go over well.
My Take:
- Seems like a fun way to bring the locker room together.
2) More On The Release Of A WWE Writer
Kenice Mobley was recently a guest on a podcast, where she spoke about WWE hiring her as a writer. She revealed that her hiring came despite her not knowing anything about wrestling and she joked about not even knowing the name of the WWE Champion. After this story got out in the news, Mobley was released by WWE.
According to Andrew Zarian, there were many people in WWE who were unhappy with Mobley’s podcast appearance. Some talent also lost confidence in her:
I don’t know the details other than many were unhappy with her appearance on that podcast. Including a lot of the talent who lost confidence in her.
My Take:
- I think it is a good thing to get writers from different perspectives and not just wrestling based. While saying that, it is probably a bad idea to admit that you have no experience with wrestling publicly.
