Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Brock Lesnar Refused To Work With Former WWE Champion
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Brock Lesnar vs Jinder Mahal didn’t happen a few years ago because Brock refused to work with Jinder. This led to Jinder losing the WWE Title to AJ Styles, who went on to face Lesnar at the event instead.
Here is what Meltzer said:
“You know why they did that? Because Brock did not want to work with him [Jinder Mahal],”
My Take:
- That does explain why WWE did a big title change on a random episode of Smackdown (when AJ Styles beat Jinder). Makes sense now.
4) WWE Employees Reaction To Recent WWE Firings
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, many people in WWE are “befuddled” over the releases of all of the recent employees from the WWE Performance Center. This includes William Regal and more.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
“I spoke to a few people who work within Titan Tower last night and this morning and many of them are befuddled, to say the least. Some admitted are angry. Some pointed out that once again, it’s not the company it was a few years ago. One even joked that it’s Nick Khan’s WWE, not Vince McMahon’s company, at this point and wondered what happens if Khan ever does falls out of favor, given that the company has been so gutted under Khan’s vision and should his vision ever end, what happens next and there would be some really awful growing pains in order to shift it to whatever the next gear might be.
A lot of the long-time employees are gone and a lot of people who have migrated over are Nick Khan knights. No one I spoke to yesterday and today were happy. Many were sad. Many were frustrated. Some don’t even know how to guess what might be next.”
My Take:
- I am still surprised that WWE let go William Regal. He seemed like a very valuable person for the company.
