Rumor Roundup: Big Match Being Saved For The Royal Rumble, Braun Strowman’s Status, More

1) WWE Saving Match For The Royal Rumble

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer spoke about the upcoming plans for the Universal Championship.

According to Meltzer, WWE is leaning towards doing Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble PPV. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan may be the Universal title match. As of early in the week, the decision was leaning toward that match at the Royal Rumble and something else at TLC, but at this point there’s nothing else set up.

My Take:

  • At TLC, I think that we will get a tag team match (in my TLC predictions, I have Daniel and Kevin Owens vs Roman and Jey Uso). If that happens, it would make sense to then do Roman vs Daniel at the Rumble in a singles match. That sounds like a good plan to me.
