Rumor Roundup: Big Wrestlemania Matches Being Considered For John Cena, Plans For The Undertaker, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Why Wrestlemania 37 Is Taking Place In March

WWE recently confirmed that Wrestlemania 37 will be taking place at SoFi Stadium on March 28th, 2021. Some fans have been wondering why the event is taking place in March instead of April.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer says that it was moved back because April 4th is Easter Sunday:

WWE officially announced on 2/10 that the 37th WrestleMania will be coming to the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, just outside Los Angeles, on March 28, 2021. The date is a week early because April 4, which would usually be the date, is Easter Sunday.

My Take:

  • The last Wrestlemania to take place in March was 31, which also took place in California (at Levi’s Stadium). The one week change isn’t a big deal and it only means that we will get Wrestlemania one week sooner.

4) Plans For The Undertaker

According to journalist Tom Colohue, a match for The Undertaker has fallen through for WWE Super Showdown.

The Deadman is no longer expected to wrestle at the event in Saudi Arabia but the door is still open for Wrestlemania 36:

When it comes to The Undertaker, he was down for a match in Saudi Arabia as I reported here, that match apparently fell through. I’m not sure who his opponent was supposed to be. It could be that it was Sting, as has been theorized, however, I’m not sure. The match was unavailable. So it is what it is. It does mean, however, that he continues his fitness regime and potentially make a Mania match. We’ll have to see if he does. He could still be a part of the build for a Super ShowDown match after all.

My Take:
