Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Backstage Reaction To Kofi vs Drew
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre received a lot of backstage praise for their match on RAW this week.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
We are told that Drew McIntyre ended up with a rough looking bruise above the right eye from what we are told appeared to be a stiff Kofi Kingston superkick during their match on last night’s Monday Night Raw. They took it to each other in a pretty stiff manner last night in order to get over the importance of fighting to get to the WWE title bout at Hell In A Cell. There were a lot backstage who were talking up what a war they had put themselves through after Raw.
My Take:
- This was a really good match. I would like to see them face off again at some point down the road.
4) Backstage Notes On The WWE-NJPW Talks (Part 1)
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the talks between WWE and New Japan Pro Wrestling was not Nick Khan’s idea. While saying that, he has been heavily involved and even recommended to Vince McMahon that he should pursue more talks with the company.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
According to those close to the negotiations, this was not a Nick Khan idea at first, but he’s been the point man in the mix and there are those who believe he has recommended to Vince McMahon to pursue it. But the idea at first had nothing to do with screwing AEW although an exclusive deal if it’s done would ace out AEW and Impact.
My Take:
- This is definitely an interesting storyline and one that I will be following closely over the next few months. If a WWE and NJPW partnership happened, it would be amazing.
