Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Reason Why WWE Announced Edge For The Royal Rumble Match
On Fightful Select (subscribe here), Sean Ross Sapp spoke about WWE announcing Edge as an entrant for the men’s Royal Rumble match, instead of keeping it a surprise.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
We were told that if there were an actual crowd, there’s a good chance that he would have been held off. However, it was decided that Edge’s return was best served as being announced to create buzz for the Royal Rumble and help attract lapsed fans familiar with him.
My Take:
- This makes sense. Plus, we already got the surprise return from him last year. I am completely fine with this and I am excited to see Edge back in the ring.
4) Backstage Note On Edge’s RAW Promo
Speaking of Edge, Mike Johnson of PWInsider provided some backstage news on his promo from RAW. It turns out that this was actually filmed on Edge’s own property.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
Edge’s promo was last night announcing his return to the ring was shot inside the ring he keeps on his property in North Carolina.
My Take:
- WWE definitely did a great job with this to make it seem like it was at the WWE Performance Center.
