Rumor Roundup: How WWE Planned To Use Gronk Before His Release, Big NXT Call-Up, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Big NXT Call-Up Before 2020 Is Over

On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that Adam Cole will likely be called up to the WWE main roster within the next 6 months.

This comes after the rumors that Cole’s contract with WWE will be expiring before the year is over.

My Take:

  • I actually do think that Cole will get called up to the WWE main roster for a few reasons. The first is that he has done pretty much everything possible in NXT. Moving to the main roster would provide WWE with many fresh matches and feuds. Main roster Superstars also make more money, so I could see WWE moving Cole up to try and convince him to sign long-term. It will be interesting to see how this plays out as I am sure WWE doesn’t want to lose him to AEW.

4) MVP Has Changed Roles In WWE

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, MVP is no longer working as a backstage producer in WWE.

The company has recently moved MVP to a full-time performer role. He was previously doing both.

“Since we have received a few emails asking, MVP has transitioned into performing full-time and is not currently working as a producer for the company.”

My Take:

  • This makes sense as MVP’s pairing with Bobby Lashley has been solid so far. I am excited to see what they can do together over the next several months.
